The Board

The Brief

We altered a previous interior design job so that the client felt it was more reflective of her own personality and style. The objective was to design an elegant yet relaxed family room, bringing the freshness of the garden outside to the room’s interior.

Board Notes

A lovely antique French plant stand filled with plants and garden books was introduced, and an old fruit crate filled with ferns was placed on the coffee table. Baskets were placed under the coffee table for magazines and mix of rustic lanterns were displayed around the room. A beautiful French armoire was brought in and filled with tartan rugs and luxurious quilts along with some rustic jugs and a selection of board games. A lovely writing desk and chair was placed to look out to the garden and a large chunky sofa was replaced by a stunning French antique day bed, adding character and ensuring a less interrupted view of the garden.

"Cocoon created a beautiful concept board bringing the outside in, mixing the old with the new. We are delighted with the finished room and it was even featured on the cover of 25 Beautiful Homes Magazine." Jo, Esher
